Ellis Stern
Mr. Stern is a Certified Specialist in both Taxation Law, and Probate,
Estate Planning and Trust Law with the State Bar of California,
Board of Legal Specialization. His practice concentrates on matters
relating to taxation law, trusts, estates, business transactions,
and real property transactions. His broad background includes experience
in academia, as well as private practice. He has served as an Adjunct
Professor of Law, teaching Federal Estate and Gift Taxation at the
University of San Diego School of Law (Masters of Law program).
Mr. Stern earned a J.D. from Tulane University in 1974 and a L.L.M.
in Taxation from New York University in 1975. He also holds a B.A.
from Fairleigh Dickinson University. Prior to entering law school,
Mr. Stern served as a Special Agent in U.S. Army Intelligence.
He was admitted to the state bar of Florida in 1974 and the state
bar of California the following year. In 1976 Mr. Stern was admitted
to U.S. District Court, Central District of California. Two years
later he was admitted to U.S. Tax Court.

Alan
N. Goldberg
Mr. Goldberg is the partner in charge of litigation at
Stern & Goldberg. His practice concentrates on matters relating
to business and civil litigation. Mr. Goldberg earned a J.D., cum
laude, from Pepperdine University School of Law in 1983. While a
law student at Pepperdine, he was the recipient of the American
Jurisprudence Award in Remedies.
Mr. Goldberg was admitted to the state bar of California in 1983.
In the following year he was admitted to U.S. District Court, Central
District of California, and U.S. Tax Court. In 1985 he was admitted
to U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit.
A Certified Specialist in Taxation Law with the State Bar of California,
Board of Legal Specialization, Mr. Goldberg earned a L.L.M. in Taxation
in 1984 from the University of Florida School of Law. He also received
a B.S. in Accounting from Arizona State University in 1980.

Kien
C. Tiet
Mr. Tiet’s practice centers on business litigation,
trust and estate litigation, corporate and business formation, and
real estate law. He earned a J.D. from Loyola Law School in 1997
and a L.L.M. in Taxation in 2003.
In 1997 Mr. Tiet was admitted to the state bar of California and
U.S. District Court, Central District of California. The following
year he was admitted to the state bar of Nevada. Mr. Tiet was admitted
to U.S. Tax Court in 2004. He holds a B.S. in Math Applied Science
and Political Science from UCLA.

Lawrence W. Hait
Mr. Hait’s practice concentrates on business and civil litigation,
and family law. He received a J.D. from UCLA School of Law in 1970,
and was admitted to the state bar of California later that year.
While a student at UCLA School of Law, Mr. Hait was a recipient
of the American Jurisprudence Award in Torts. Mr. Hait was admitted
to U.S. District Court, Central District of California in 1971.
He earned a B.A. from UCLA in 1967.
Justin
J. Lansberg
Business litigation and environmental litigation are the
focus of Mr. Lansberg’s practice. He earned a J.D. from USC
in 1989, and a B.A. from Stanford University in 1986. Mr. Lansberg
became a member of the state bar of California in 1989, and was
admitted to U.S. District Court, Central District of California
in the same year.
